All real estate, like politics, is local. Real estate sales in the South Bay beach communities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach bucked the national trends in 2007 and look like they will continue to do so in 2008. In fact, prices increased in the 13-city region by over 14% because sales in the three beach cities were so strong.

Does that mean you will not be able to find a deal? If you are a potential buyer of real estate, don't be discouraged! Although there are very few foreclosures, the possibility for finding a a great home at a great price does exist since we see that there are 'pocket' areas where home prices are lower than others but taking a long to to sell, as well as 'pocket' areas with prices that are high and selling quickly.
